Steve Gaskowitz, CPA, CFE Principal

Steve is an Audit Principal at Grassi and brings fourteen years of public accounting experience to the firm. He has extensive experience auditing services for the manufacturing, real estate, retail, technology, not-for-profit, governmental, and employee benefit plans industries.

Prior to joining Grassi, Steve was the CFO of a nutraceutical manufacturing company on Long Island. During this time, Steve oversaw all accounting, payroll and HR functions for approximately 100 employees. Prior to that, Steve worked in public accounting for thirteen years. There, he had experience in the planning and supervision of various auditing and review engagements while also providing accounting and taxation services for a diversified client base.

Steve became a Certified Public Accountant in 2008, and a Certified Fraud Examiner in 2018. Steve is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA), and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).
Outside of Grassi, Steve is a volunteer coach for little league and travel baseball.

Steve received his BS in Accounting from LIU- CW Post. Throughout his time at Post, he volunteered in the VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) Program, which offers free tax help to low-income families.
