Robert Bernstein, Partner at Grassi, offers tax and consulting advice to professionals in industries such as Cannabis – medical and adult use; Industrial Hemp companies; CBD companies; Auto dealers, car washes, gas stations, quick lube stations, manufacturers, constructors, real estate owners and developers.
Robert is now applying his talents to the ever expanding cannabis space – medical and adult use as well as Industrial Hemp and CBD companies.
Robert has the expertise needed to help companies navigate through the many challenges that companies in the cannabis/industrial hemp industry face. Robert works with vertically integrated cannabis companies; multi state operators; medical and adult use dispensaries, cannabis technology companies, cannabis landowners, industrial hemp growers – both indoor and outdoor grow as well as, companies in the CBD space. Robert works with private equity firms and family offices investing in this space. Robert has a team dedicated to the cannabis, industrial hemp/CBD space.
Robert has participated in panel discussions regarding cannabis including the 2019 NYSSCPA”S cannabis symposium where he chaired a panel discussion on valuation; cyber security; tax issues; and legal issues in the cannabis space.
Robert has been on numerous panels for HighNY (a Cannabis Advocacy Group) Topics include, “How Not to Get Burned Investing in Cannabis”. Robert is also a member of WomenGrow, an organization that helps women within the cannabis space to network and build relationships. Robert has been quoted in several publications, including The Street, regarding the cannabis industry.
Prior to joining Grassi, Robert was owner of the Firm Bernstein and Seidman, which was established in 1996. He got his start in the industry working with several top 20 CPA firms and was a former Chief Financial Officer of Ferrari/Maserati of Long Island and Ferrari/Maserati of New England.
Robert has excellent working knowledge of numerous software packages unique to specific industries used to track revenue and expenses across multiple platforms.
Robert loves to travel and is very involved in his local synagogue. He became a CPA in 1978 graduating from Pace University and received his JD degree from Touro Law School in 1986, admitted to the Bar of The State of New York in 1987.
