James P. Ferrone, CPA, PSA, CGMA Director


James Ferrone is a Director at Grassi and brings more than 20 years of experience in public accounting to the firm. Jim specializes in the nonprofit, manufacturing, family-owned businesses, and professional service industries. He provides clients in these industries with audits, compilations, reviews, and tax support and management advisory services. Jim has a niche in Employee Retirement Income Security Act and Nonprofit/Yellow Book/Uniform Guidance auditing.

Prior to the firm merging with Grassi, Jim was a Director at Gramkow, Carnevale, Seifert, & Co., LLC for 5 years. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in New Jersey and New York.

Jim is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is a past president of the Essex County Chapter of the NJSCPA and has served on several of its committees. Jim has been asked to speak and write on non-profit and ERISA issues. He also attends seminars and workshops in the field of ERISA and yellow book/non-profit auditing.

He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from St. Thomas Aquinas College. Jim is dedicated to serving the community. He is an eagle scout and is on the executive board of the Northern New Jersey Council of the Boy Scouts of America where he is the chair of the endowment committee. In addition, he is also the Director of the Erskine Lakes Property Owners Association. Jim is an avid skier, but truly enjoys kayaking and cycling with his family.
