Michael Violano, CPA, MST Partner

Michael A. Violano is an Audit Partner at Grassi and has extensive experience providing audit, accounting and consulting services to companies ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500s in the public and private sectors in both domestic and international markets. Michael has embraced the Firm’s philosophy of “entrepreneurs helping entrepreneurs” by keeping his focus on working directly with business owners in the private sector to develop various tax and operational strategies for achieving growth and maximum profitability.

Prior to joining Grassi, Michael was at a national firm and played a key role in the firm’s public companies practice—in addition to being a key member of the Manufacturing and Distribution niche.

Michael’s experience also includes serving as an Internal Auditor for a Fortune 500 company. In this role, he planned, performed and reported on operational, financial, and special project audits of the key business areas of an entity with annual revenues in excess of $12 billion. He acted as an internal consultant to help the organization become more compliant and efficient; specifically pertaining to the Sarbanes-Oxley efforts and the operational business areas of the Company. Michael began his career at a Big 4 firm, where he received the foundation of his experiences.

Currently, Michael serves on the board of Aerospace & Defense Diversification Alliance in Peacetime Transition (ADDAPT), is on the Executive Committee of The CPA Manufacturing Services Association, served on the board for the Long Island Capital Alliance and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Michael was selected as an honoree for Long Island Business News’ “40 Under 40” Awards.

In addition to being a licensed CPA in the state of New York, Michael earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Master of Science degree in Taxation from St. John’s University in New York.
